About the Authors
Jeff McAffer
Jeff McAffer leads the Eclipse Rich Client Platform and Equinox teams. He is one of the architects of the Eclipse platform and has been involved with
the Eclipse project from the beginning. His current interests range from Eclipse as a Rich Client Platform to the broader use of Eclipse and OSGi as a component
runtime. Prior to his work at IBM's Ottawa Software Lab and his involvement with Eclipse, Jeff worked at Object Technology International on massively parallel
Smalltalk, distributed Smalltalk, multi-processor embedded Smalltalk, expert systems, meta-level architectures, simulation and lots of other fun stuff. He received
a PhD from the University of Tokyo and Master and Bachelor of Computer Science degrees from Carleton University in Ottawa Canada, where he currently lives.
Jean-Michel Lemieux
Jean-Michel Lemieux has been a committer on the Eclipse team and CVS component
since its inception. Before joining IBM's Ottawa Software Lab to work on Eclipse,
Jean-Michel built real-time SS7 monitoring systems and real-time modeling tools. His
current interests extend from designing Eclipse frameworks that are RCP friendly to
using Bugzilla in the home environment to keep the family organized. Jean-Michel has
a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Ottawa.
